Hello, Michael!
This is a great starting point for someone wishing to delve more deeply into TiddlyWiki.

Curently, I'm an end user - publishing, but I am looking for some ways to do the following:
1. share a TiddlyWiki file with restricted access to some tiddlers
2. Failing that, a mass export of public tiddlers to a new file.

I haven't updated from version 2.3.0, so I may discover the capabilities that I need in a later version.

Cheers,

Mitch

Mike,

I concur completely with your observation that TiddlyWiki is a good tool for rapidly building web apps. I'd go further than that and say that it highlights quite what it possible when you couple the power of a JavaScript library with a simple constraint about the data model - "everything is a tiddler" - and an interactive, interpreted development environment.

For me, TiddlyWiki is not exciting because it is an extensible notebook, but because it indicates that the browser is a sufficient environment for building web apps. A server need only support the client, for instance by serving data in whichever format is most suitable, rather than taking the load of performing logic and creating the representation.

I look forward to much development on this subject!

[...] Reflections from a TiddlyWiki Tiddler and Thoughts on a Guide for Web App Development with TiddlyWik... A great collection of notes on how to hack TiddlyWiki. TiddlyWiki is one of those excellent examples of a completely javascript based web application, with the potential of working in a distributed, semi connected environment. With things like Gears and TiddlyWiki one can imagine web based application that work offline, and sync online seemlessly. Something to bite into soon.
